At the edge of the dead cluster, a derelict station drifts dark behind a collapsed travel current. Lyra-7 leads the way in, her star-map arm the only reliable guide through corridors where every system is failing at once — and where sealed doors recognise her before she touches them.
Aboard, they meet Vela — a four-armed Grid scientist who knows more than almost anyone alive and is deeply unsettled by how much she still doesn't understand. Her research suggests the stars are not going silent on their own. Then a transmission from Zix arrives with a warning that changes everything: the same darkness has reached his homeworld, and it is spreading in several directions at once.
